Railways move to deal with snowy weather in central, east China
font size

The Chinese Ministry of Railways has moved promptly to deal with heavy snows and rains which hit the central and eastern parts of the country since the start of February.

Moderate and heavy snowfalls and rainfalls were reported in the provinces and municipalities of Jiangxi, Henan, Anhui, Shandong, and Beijing and Tianjin over the past few days.

Tens of thousands of railway staff workers were sent to sweep away the snow on the platforms and lay antiskid materials in various parts of railway stations, so as to ensure smooth operation of the railway networks.

Currently, major railway stations in Beijing are operating well.
