Yunnan Province in Southwest China reported 1.3 billion yuan (162.5 million U.S. dollars) in tourism revenue in the past seven-day Spring Festival holiday.

The figure is about 8.36 percent higher than the previous Spring Festival holiday, according to the Yunnan provincial office on holiday affairs.

The province received about 3.81 million tourists in the Spring Festival from Jan. 29 to Feb. 4, up 4.77 percent from the previous Spring Festival last year.

Most tourists were attracted to the warm temperature and various ethnic cultures in the province, according to the Yunnan Provincial Tourism Administration.
