Indonesia has no plan to recall diplomats in Denmark: FM
font size

Indonesia will not recall its diplomats in Denmark despite mounting protests against the publishing of cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammad by a Danish newspaper, the foreign minister said Wednesday.

"There are no such plans... no reasons to recall our envoy," Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda said in response to journalist questions at his office here.

The minister also said the Indonesian government is working to ensure security of the Danish embassy and its staff here.

The recent protests near the Danish embassy compound, he said, remained within tolerable limits.
