A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has stressed the improvement of community environment for the healthy growth of young people.

Li Changchun, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remark during an inspection tour of Shanghai between Feb. 5 and Feb. 8.

He said the community, which incorporates schools, families and the society, may serve as a platform of education network for the youth. The government should improve relevant services and increase input in the community centers reserved for young people.

Li called for the establishment of non-profit public Internet bars in communities and the promotion of chained commercial Cyber bars for the youth's healthy growth.
