At least five anti-government guerrillas killed on Wednesday in the latest action carried out by the security forces in different parts of the Nepal, Ministry of Defense (MoD) said here Thursday.
"The dead bodies of two guerrillas were discovered after the security forces foiled the ill attempt of the guerrillas to attack Salleri area of eastern Dhankuta district, some 400 km east of Kathmandu," MoD said in press statement.
Likewise, a guerrilla was killed on the spot in the action carried out by the security forces against the guerrillas setting up booby trap targeting the voters coming to Ghuinyagaon Voting Center of Dhangadi city in far-western Kailali district, some 800 km west of Kathmandu.
The security forces seized the material used by the guerrillas to set up the trap from the site, the statement noted.
Similarly, two guerrillas were killed in the exchange of fire that took place between the security force and armed guerrillas at the Nayangaon and Chatari areas of Kanchapur district, neighboring Kailali district, the statement revealed.
One pistol, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other combat materials were discovered from the clash site.
Earlier, on Tuesday, a guerrilla had been killed while he was found setting up a trap at Lalrupa area of the Kanchanpur district.
The security forces recovered IEDs, detonator and other material used to set up the booby trap, the statement added.
