Malaysia's Industrial Production Index (IPI) for the year 2005 rose by 4.1 percent to 238.9, the Department of Statistics said Thursday.
The expansion was in line with the positive change in the indices of all three sectors, the department said in its latest release.
The electricity sector grew by 5.7 percent to 276.6, the manufacturing sector up 4.5 percent to 266.2 and the mining sector up 0.1 percent to 139.3, said the department.
The IPI is the measure of the rate of change in the production of industrial commodities in real terms over time. These commodities are obtained from the manufacturing, mining and electricity sectors.
