East China's Zhejiang Province attracted a total of 5.15 billion U.S. dollars of investment from Taiwanese entrepreneurs by the end of 2005, a rise of 11.42 percent year on year.
According to the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Industry and Commerce, the province had approved in total 2,291 Taiwanese-funded enterprises by the end of last year.
Zhejiang approved 234 Taiwanese-funded enterprises in 2005 alone, involving a combined investment of 705 million U.S. dollars, the source said.
Eighteen of these enterprises had injected funds ranging from 10 million to 30 million U.S. dollars.
Most of the funds flowed into the sectors of manufacturing, computer service and software industry, scientific research and technological services, environment and other rising industries, the bureau said.
