Nepal to hold parliamentary elections: official
font size

Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers Tulsi Giri on Friday asserted that the Nepali government will hold parliamentary elections in the same manner as the municipal polls were held.

"The Election Commission (EC) will call the political parties to participate and file the nominations," Giri said, adding, "If the parties refuse to take part in the elections, the process will go ahead just like in the municipal polls."

Speaking at a program in the capital, Giri called the government organizations to "meet up the desire of the King" by maintaining rule of law and transparency in the public services.

The Vice-Chairman also said that the government has not changed its policy on the anti-government forces. The government cannot hold any talks with them until they give up their arms, he added.
