Two bombs rock central Baghdad, wound 12

Two bombs went off in a busy street in central Baghdad early on Sunday, wounding 12 civilians, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.

"Two explosive charges detonated successively in the al-Sadun Street at around 7:00 a.m. (0400 GMT), wounding 12 civilians and damaging a police vehicle," the source said on condition of anonymity.

Iraqi security forces rushed to the area and defused two more explosive charges, the source said.

In a separate incident, five civilians were wounded when their car collided with a U.S. tank in the capital's southern al- Rustamiyah area, he added.
