Representatives of resident foreign diplomats in Chengdu, the capital of southwest China's Sichuan province, visited China's largest non-governmental exhibition center for the War of Resistance against Japanese aggression relics Sunday to mark the Lantern Festival.

The exhibition center, part of the Jianchuan Museum Complex, comprises five exhibition halls with more than 4,000 relics exhibits from the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-1945). The exhibits include historical photos, materials, documents and the replicas of battlefields.

Since in opening in December last year, the exhibition center has drawn a lot of local people as well as foreigners.

Thomas Norbert Gerberich, consul general of the German Consulate General in Chengdu, said the exhibition rehabilitate the true history, which helps the youth to learn the history of their own country.

Jeffrey Moon, consul general of the U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu, said he acknowledges the great contribution the Chinese soldiers had made during the World War II. "I am, too, grateful to the people of China for not forgetting the history of the American soldiers in this battlefield," he said.

Many locals joined the tour of the foreign diplomats to the non-governmental exhibition center.
