China's porcelain trade volume hits new high in 2005

In 2005, China's total import and export volume of porcelain products hit a record high of 5.339 billion U.S. dollars, up 29.2 percent on the previous year.

The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Light Industrial Products and Arts-Crafts (CCCLA) released the figures on Tuesday.

In 2005, China exported porcelain worth 5.038 billion U.S. dollars, up 29.5 percent on the previous year, and imported porcelain worth 301 million U.S. dollars, down 3.86 percent.

In 2005, China exported 1.659 billion dollars worth of porcelain for everyday use, up 23.88 percent; 727 million dollars worth of arts and crafts porcelain, up 9.31 percent; 1.251 billion dollars worth of building ceramics, up 42.90 percent; and 926 million dollars worth of other porcelain, up 35.27 percent.
