US unveils review of US-China trade policy
font size

U.S. Trade Representative Rob Portman unveiled on Tuesday the results of a review of U.S.-China trade policy, announcing that the United States would step up enforcement of trade laws with China.

"The time has come to readjust our trade policy with respect to China," Portman said at a news conference.

A 29-page report, the outcome of a six-month review of the U.S. economic policy toward China, was released at the press conference.

Portman also announced the creation of a special task force charged with stepping up enforcement of domestic and international trade rules toward China.

The task force will be led by a new head lawyer for China trade enforcement within the Office of U.S. Trade Representative.
