The Zambian government Tuesday reiterated its support to the "one-China" policy and denounced the words of sedition by Chen Shuibian, leader of Taiwan authorities.
Zambian government spokesman, Vernon Mwanga, said here in a joint press briefing held together with Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Li Baodong that Chen's words of sedition have not only damaged the peace and stability shared by the Chinese mainland and Taiwan authorities but also imposed a big threat to the peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region as well as in the world.
Mwanga said international communities have reached consensus that there is only one China and Taiwan Island is an integral part of China.
The Zambian government will consistently uphold the "one-China" policy and it is strongly against Taiwan's sedition from China in any forms. It will not support Taiwan's entry into the United Nations, Mwanga said.
He said the Zambian government will call on all peace-loving countries to jointly denounce the words and actions by Chen to separate Taiwan from China, adding that it is also against Taiwan's joining of any other inter-governmental organizations.
