76 unqualified Websites shut from Sep to Dec in 2005

Seventy-six Websites were closed down in a sweep of online piracy across the country from September to December in 2005, said sources with the the National Copyright Administration in Beijing Wednesday.

In a national effort to curb online piracy, 39 servers used for online piracy were confiscated and 29 Websites committed piracy were fined a total of 789,000 yuan (97,000 U.S. dollars), according to the administration.
