Toshiba suspected of falsifying flow meter data for nuclear reactorJapanese industry watchdog said February 13 that electronics maker Toshiba Corp. might have falsified data on two coolant flow meters for a reactor at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant operated by Tokyo Electric Power Co. When The Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency, an organization under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry began to investigate the fabrication, Toshiba were preparing to acquire Westinghouse, one of world largest nuclear power facility suppliers, for 5.4 billion US dollars.
