China exports 50% more handsets in 2005

The latest statistics released by Ministry of Commerce show China exported 228 million handsets in 2005, 56 percent more than in 2004. The export volume was worth $20.6 billion, posting an on-year increase of 45.7 percent.

The Ministry said China realized a surplus of $19.4 billion in trade of handset products, which grew $6.7 billion and consolidated China as a global base of handset manufacturing.
