A notable change has taken place in the structure of China's automobile export. Sedan car has surpassed special purposes vehicles and large and medium-sized coaches to rank the 2nd in terms of export amount and value, according to annuals for China's automobile export in 2005 published by China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products.
In 2005, China's sedan car exported increased by 233.5 percent to reach 31,124, representing 19.5 percent of gross automobile export. The value of sedan cars exported increased by 222.3 percent to reach $271 million, accounting for 17.7 percent of total export value.
The export of sedans with engines between 1.0 and 1.5 liters displacement increased by 549.2 percent to reach 20,347, representing 63.5 percent of all sedans exported. The export value of such sedans soared 1071.5 percent to reach $182 million, 67.2 percent of export value of all sedans.
