Qiangguo Blog of People's Daily Online, the first blog offered by news website in China, was officially launched on Wednesday as Li Wufeng, Director of Network Bureau of Information Office of State Council clicked the mouse button.

Qiangguo Blog, offering more than ten channels at the homepage including politics, society, business, education, science and technology, arts and entertainment, began public test on Jan 24, 2006. Users can post texts, images on the blog conveniently. Different templates are available for users to make personalized pages. The blog has received broad attention since the test began. By Feb 14, nearly 2,000 became its registered users; more than 6, 000 articles, 2,000 images and 2, 000 entries of comments have been published.

As China's key news website, People's Daily Online has kept on applying new technologies, offering new services, which reflects the essence of "keeping pace with the times", said Jiang Shaogao, deputy editor-in-chief of the People's Daily at the inaugural ceremony.
