During the "Tenth Five Year Plan" period (2001-2005), China invested more than 50 billion US dollars directly overseas and the number of Chinese firms in foreign countries exceeded 10,000, according to Ministry of Commerce.
China's outbound net investment totaled 17.9 billion US dollars in the four years from 2002 to 2005, up 36% annually.
The country completed 72.6 billion US dollars of project contracts overseas, an increase of 24% year-on-year in the past five years.
Labor service contracts stood at 17.3 billion US dollars, a surge of 6% year-on-year, 49% more than that of the "Ninth Five Year Plan" period (1996-2000) and the number of various outbound labors reached 560,000 by 2005, 125,000 more than that of five years from 1996 to 2000.
