EU industrial production up in December 2005

Seasonally adjusted industrial production rose by 0.1 percent in the eurozone in December 2005 compared to November, said Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union (EU), on Friday.

Compared to November, output in the EU25 rose by 0.3 percent in December 2005, said Eurostat.

As for the eurozone, the industrial output increased by 1.1 percent in November 2005, and decreased by 0.6 percent in October.

As for the EU25, production grew by 1.4 percent in November 2005, but fell by 0.7 percent in October.

In December 2005 compared to December 2004, industrial production rose by 2.5 percent in both the eurozone and the EU25.

According to Eurostat, the average index of production for the year 2005 compared to that for 2004 increased by 1.2 percent in the eurozone and by 1.0 percent in the EU25.
