Exports and imports of China's major high-tech companies increase in 2005

The average export and import volume of China's major high-tech companies rose in 2005, the Ministry of Commerce said on Friday.

In 2005, the annual export volume of China's high-tech companies that exported over 100 million U.S. dollars averaged at 620 million U.S. dollars, up 70 million dollars from 2004, according to figures from the ministry.

The export volume of the top three high-tech product exporters stood at 10.54 billion, 6.21 billion and 6.19 billion dollars, up 4 billion, 750 million and 870 million dollars from the top three in 2004.

In 2005, the annual import volume of China's high-tech companies that imported over 100 million U.S. dollars averaged at 440 million U.S. dollars, up 50 million dollars from 2004.

The import volume of the top three high-tech importers stood at 9.11 billion, 4.24 billion and 4.23 billion dollars, up 3.63 billion, 1.22billion and 1.5 billion dollars from the top three in 2004.

In 2005, some Chinese high-tech companies with strong independent innovation capacity became more competitive. In 2005, the country's export volume of high-tech products with proprietary intellectual property rights and brands exceeded 20 billion dollars.

In 2005, the high-tech product export of China's Huawei company, TCL company and Bird company reached 2 billion, 620 million, and 400 million dollars, up 86 percent, 56.9 percent and 67.4 percent year-on-year.
