Russia redemands Iran to cooperate with IAEA
font size

Russia once again urged Iran to fully cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) during talks between the two countries in Moscow, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

Iran's full cooperation with the IAEA will help resolve all understanding problems and restore the international community's trust in Iran's nuclear program, the statement said.

Russian and Iranian negotiators held two days of talks in Moscow on Monday and Tuesday when both sides held an in-depth exchange of views regarding the establishment of a joint uranium enrichment venture in Russia, it added, saying that both sides will continue to discuss the issue.

Ali Hosseinitash, deputy secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, described the talks as "positive and constructive," saying that the mutual trust between the two countries will lay a foundation for them to reach consensus on setting up the joint Iranian-Russian nuclear business.

Sergei Kiriyenko, head of Russia's atomic energy agency, will visit Iran on Thursday for more consultations on Iran's nuclear issue.
