font size

A recycling economy promotion center, the first of its kind in China, has been set up in an economic development zone of North China's Tianjin Municipality.

The center will promote recycling economy by providing data base of recycling technologies, examine new methods of clean production, research on the development of recycling economy, and launch a related website, a local official said.

The center, located in Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Zone(TEDZ), 45 kilometers east of Tianjin, is jointly built by the Administrative Commission of TEDZ and the prestigious Nankai University.

It will also work out a series of preferential policies in order to promote resource-saving production and reduce waste, the source said.

The center aims to help TEDZ become a high-tech production base in 10 to 15 years, which will specialize in recycling of waste materials and energy conservation.
