Pakistani president terms China visit as highly successful
font size

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has described his visit to China as highly successful, saying his substantive talks with the Chinese leadership will help further enhance bilateral cooperation in political, economic and defense fields.

Talking to media men in his special plane last night while flying back home after a five-day State visit to China, Musharraf said his visit was very important in the changing times.

The President said he had complete understandings with the Chinese leadership on further reinforcing their strategic partnership.

The two countries, he said, have agreed to continue cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

There is also substantial progress and forward movement on defense cooperation, he said.

The President also expressed confidence that his visit would attract significant Chinese investment in Pakistan following his extensive interactions with Chinese entrepreneurs.

He said the Chinese investors had shown interest in various sectors of the economy including automobile, energy and textiles.
