Government regulates naming of overseas Chinese-funded companies

Chinese-funded companies or organizations established overseas should not have their names include words like "China" and "National" unless authorized, the Ministry of Commerce announced on Friday.

So as to raise their status and expand their influence in foreign countries and regions, some Chinese companies use names with words like "China," "National," "Group," and "Holding Company."

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has published a circular to rule out such jactitation, requiring all Chinese-funded enterprises overseas to use names suited to their capacity and size.
