N. China port city seizes over 16 kg of drugs in 2005

North China's port city of Tianjin cracked 1,066 drug-related criminal cases last year and seized 16.65 kg of drugs, official statistics show.

A total of 1,102 suspects were captured and 12 drug rings were cracked, according to the statistics from the Tianjin Municipal Narcotics Control Commission.

In addition, local narcotic control authorities seized more than 2 million yuan (about 250,000 U.S. dollars) of illicit money, and confiscated 28 guns, 655 rounds of bullets and nine cars.
