Pakistani Prime Minster Shaukat Aziz said on Saturday that the diplomatic and political ties shared by Pakistan and China are now reflected in enhanced economic and commercial cooperation.
The Prime Minister was talking to Muhammad Ayub, President of Haier group in Pakistan, who called on him along with a delegation, an official statement said.
Aziz said the recently concluded visit of President General Pervez Musharraf to China will go a long way in expansion of trade and economic ties between the two countries.
The Prime Minister referred to a large number of joint ventures signed between the Pakistani and Chinese companies in various fields during the President's visit.
He said the geo-strategic location of Pakistan and continuity and consistency of government policies have turned the country into a regional manufacturing hub.
Ayub informed the Prime Minister that during their recent visit to China, where they accompanied the President, they found the Chinese companies were keen on investment in Pakistan and enter into joint ventures with Pakistani companies.
He said his group signed joint ventures with Chinese companies in construction business, shopping malls, hospitals and hotel business in Pakistan.
