Olympic singles and doubles champion Nicolas Massu launched a successful run for the title of the Brazil Open ATP tennis tournament, comfortably beating Alberto Martin of Spain 6-3, 6-4 at the Costa do Sauipe resort on Saturday.
The sixth-seeded Chilean took the Tour victory after top seed Argentine Gaston Gaudio suffering an earlier exit in the second round by France's Olivier Patience.
Also he handed seventh seed Martin his second successive defeat in the final after he lost to fellow Spaniard Rafael Nadal last year.
Martin reached the final after saving three match points in a three-set victory over Patience.
