1 Nepali policeman killed, 3 injured in mid-western clashAt least one policeman was killed and three others were injured on Saturday in a clash with anti-government forces in mid-western Nepal, Ministry of Defense ( MoD) confirmed here Sunday. "At least one police man died on the spot and three Armed Police Force officials were injured when armed guerrillas attacked the security forces at Ranjha Chowk area of Nepalgunj city in Banke district, some 600 km west of Kathmandu," MoD said in a statement. Nepalgunj city remained tense for some hours following the clash while most of the fights from Nepalgunj Airport were ended. An airplane of private Buddha Air that was about to touch down at the airport had to return to Kathmandu due to the clash, the statement noted. Security forces have been deployed in the city and surrounding areas in search of the guerrillas, the statement added. Meanwhile, at least six civilians, including two children, were injured after guerrillas exploded a bomb near a police post on Saturday evening at Chhorepatan area of Pokhara city in Kaski district, some 200 km west of Kathmandu.
