China to set up national committee overseeing mergers of hi-tech firms
font size

China is going to establish a special committee to oversee Chinese-foreign mergers of hi-tech enterprises in order to protect China-grown intellectual property.

According to new incentive policies encouraging scientific and technological innovation which were issued by the State Council Sunday, the special committee will review and investigate such mergers and technology exports.

The State Council also urges governmental bodies and trade associations to establish an alert system to monitor barriers to Chinese exports.

According to the polices, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the State Intellectual Property Office are asked to establish a platform to provide information and strategic analyses of global intellectual property.

The State Council also urges concerned departments to actively participate in international standardization efforts.
