font size

Since Toshiba and Panasonic withdrew from Chinese mobile market, another Japanese mobile phone maker Mitsubishi quit its mobile phone service in Chinese market for sluggish gaining.

News from Mitsubishi Soyea Mobile Communication Equipment Co.,LTD siand that the internal meeting on Feb. 24 has decided to close the mobile phone departments in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and pull out mobile phone market. Additionally, the factory in Hangzhou is also on the verge of closedown.

Sources from Mitsubishi said that the R&D, production, sales and aftersales service personnel including employees in headquarters in Beijing and sales department will all be reduced.

Currently, production in Mitsubishi's Hanzhou affiliate has been stopped, and the aftersales services of Mitsubishi mobile phone on sales will be handed over to other sellers.

Apart from a few of mobile phone producers such as NEC in China, all most all have come to a standstill.

It is said that Toshiba, Panasonic and Mitsubishi have successively withdrawn investment from Chinese mobile phone market and the sales of Sanyo and Potevio jointly developed mobile phone have stagnated. Insiders held that late entrance into the Chinese market and less successful localization process compared with their European and American peers have accounted for the bad market performance of Japanese mobile phone makers.
