Some 1,000 women were provided free check-up services on Monday for diagnosing for cancer of the uterus at a health camp in central Nepal.
The camp was organized by Nepal Cancer Relief Society, a non- government organization (NGO), at a local Janasewa Secondary School at Panga of Kirtipur city in Kathmandu district.
"Most of the women in Nepal are suffering from cancer of the uterus and such women did not go to the doctors thinking that treatment of the disease is very expensive and cumbersome, thereby making the disease even more complicated," Chandra Lekha Tuladhar, one of the medical doctor, said at the inauguration function of the health camp.
These types of camps are being organized to control the disease in the country, Tuladhar noted.
The camp was organized under the joint auspices of different branches of Rotary Clubs of Nepal including Bagmati, Kathmandu Mid town, Pasupati, Dillibazar, Nagarjun and Kathmandu West.
