New commissioner assumes office in HK

The Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China (PRC) announced on Monday that Lu Xinhua has arrived in Hong Kong on Monday to assume office as commissioner of the Commissioner's Office.

Lu Xinhua, born in Zhejiang Province in January, 1951, graduated from Hangzhou University.

He has serviced as secondary secretary of the Permanent Mission of the PRC to the United Nations, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the PRC to the Republic of Finland, ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assistant minister of foreign affairs and vice minister of foreign affairs.

Lu, married, has a daughter.
