China's top advisory body discusses draft work reports

The Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), or the country's top advisory body, deliberated in Beijing Monday in panels the drafts of the committee's work report and proposal work report.

Committees of CPPCC at different levels have played an increasingly important role in the country's economic, political and social lives, said members attending the panel discussions

The committees have improved their performance in the past year, they said.

CPPCC chairman Jia Qinglin was present at the meeting.
