Singapore's manufacturing output rose by 1.3 percent in January this year over a year ago, according to the figures released by the Economic Development Board (EDB) on Monday.
The transport engineering and electronics clusters maintained high growth in January, which expanded by 22.9 percent and 18.4 percent, respectively from a year ago, while the output of the precision engineering cluster rose by 7.2 percent in the same month.
The output of the biomedical manufacturing cluster declined by 33.8 percent in January as compared with the same month of last year.
The output of the chemicals cluster and the general manufacturing industries contracted by 2.1 percent and 2.4 percent, respectively last month.
