59th anniversary of Feb. 28 uprising marked

Delegates of Taiwan compatriots living in the Chinese mainland held a meeting Monday to commemorate the 59th anniversary of an uprising against the ruling authority in Taiwan.

The commemoration was organized by All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots (ACFTC) and Taiwan Democratic Self-government League (TDSL) Central Committee.

Taiwan people initiated a week-long uprising from February 28, 1947 against the then-ruling authority on the island.
