The Chongqing Municipal Higher People's Court in Southwest China sentenced Xu Wanping to 12 years of imprisonment for government subversion in a final judgement on Tuesday.
The higher court rejected Xu's appeal and maintained the judgement at the first trial, which also deprived the subverter of political rights for four years.
The higher court found that Xu received financial aid from hostile foreign organizations starting in 2001, and joined illegal organizations aimed at subverting the Chinese government.
The judges also believed Xu had used the money in acts of subversion.
The higher court made the judgement in accordance with terms of China's Criminal Law, noting that the first judgement of the case was appropriate with adequate and authentic evidence, accurate crimination and legal procedures.
The Chongqing Municipal Intermediate People's Court made the first judgement last December, and then Xu appealed to the higher court.
