The grand finale for the Miss Tourism Model of the World contest will now be held in Dar es Salaam instead of in Arusha of northern Tanzania as earlier planned.
David Singh, vice-president of the Miss Tourism World organization, said on Tuesday that the final of the beauty pageant had been changed from Arusha to Dar es Salaam.
Coordinator of the contest Gideon Chipungahelo told local media that the change of venue had been caused by "technical arrangements". The contest is planned to be broadcast live worldwide via television.
An estimated 2 million people are expected to watch the event on TV.
So far 77 beauties from various countries have gathered in Tanzania for the Miss Tourism Model of the World contest that had been put off from last December to March 11 this year, due to the general elections of the country that was held on December 18.
John Singh, president of the Miss Tourism World, has chosen Tanzania to host the tourism model contest for three consecutive years starting this year.
