A kind of biological plastics independently developed and mass produced by China - biologically degradable plastic starch material and its products - have passed the expert review organized by China Association of Environmental Protection Industry.

The experts believed the material developed by Wuhan Huali Environment Protection Science & Technology Co., Ltd has successfully "changed" the nature of starch. Its starch content is over 80 percent, making it 100 percent environment-friendly once it has been used. It filled up a blank area in China in industrial production of biologically degradable plastic starch material with proprietary rights.

According to experts, one third of China's oil imports are used in synthesizing one-time plastic products. Using the material made from natural renewable farm produce and its products, that is, replacing traditional plastics with biological plastics will not only save lots of oil resources, protect and improve the environment, but also boost the agricultural industrial chain and treat the "white pollution" caused by discarded plastics with a drastic measure.
