The world's leading chipmaker Intel's Asian Deputy President Yang Xu has blamed AMD of being irresponsible for accusing Intel's product as 'false dual-core processor'.
In return, he pointed out that AMD products have more flaws compared with those of Intel.
He made the remarks yesterday at a press conference held in Shanghai.
After the dual-core processor came into being, AMD has challenged Intel and accused it of bundling two cores in different wafers and then packaging them together, which is not what a dual-core about. The real one should be integrated the two cores into a die. AMD once invited Intel to test the technology, but Intel didn't respond to it.
As the accusation escalates, Intel started to respond. Yang Xu said the a good product is judged by quality, but not the structure. So far there is no common standard in this field and it shouldn't be judged false or true in its structure.
Yang Xu said AMD cache has 2.5 times more faults than Intel dual-core. Intel has more advantages in the scale of production and quality than AMD. Its transformation from producing chips only to providing comprehensive technology platform has provided better solutions for enterprises. It doesn't mean that the chips Intel produces are not good.
On the same day, AMD also held a press conference to explain their reasons about the accusation.
