One of the Japanese biggest automobile company Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., planned to invest 40 million U.S. dollars in Indonesia by 2008, Japanese Ambassador in Jakarta Yutaka Limura said here Thursday.
"Nissan by 2008 plans to invest 40 million U.S. dollars," he told a press conference after meeting Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the vice presidential office here.
However, the ambassador did not give further detail.
He said that automobile was one of promising sector in Indonesia for Japanese investors.
"What (is) promising area of investment in this country, number one is automobile," he said.
Last year another two Japanese automobile companies, Toyota and Daihatsu, invested 40 million U.S. dollar, 11 million U.S. dollars respectively, he said.
