Car makers from more than 30 countries have gathered here for the 76th Geneva International Motor Show to show off state-of-the-art auto technologies and the latest concepts.
The show, scheduled to run from March 2 to 12, has attracted more than 260 exhibitors, including big names such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Peugeot, Ford and Toyota. More than 900 brands and models will be presented to the public, organizers said.
Low emission and fuel efficiency are among the focuses of the show. Auto-making giants have debuted their latest models of low-emission cars, as well as diesel-powered vehicles and smartly designed hybrids, putting them at the forefront of their displays.
About 700,000 people are expected to visit the Swiss show.
The Swiss auto show is one of the world's five major motor shows. The other four are hosted by Detroit, Paris, Frankfurt and Tokyo respectively.
