font size

A cooperation memorandum of understanding was signed in Chongqing Sunday between Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality and British Wales.

Rhodri Morgan, first minister for Wales of Britain, said at the signing ceremony that Wales has successfully transformed its traditional manufactory industry into modern industry and that today's industry is driven by the knowledge economy.

Wales accumulated abundant experience in industrial structure adjustment, economic diversification and sustainable development, which it is willing to share with Chongqing, a city in the economic and social transformation process, and forge cooperation in fields like the economy, education, environmental protection, public affairs and agriculture, Morgan said.

The signing of the memo is only the beginning of the cooperation between the two places, Morgan stressed, expressing the belief that the specific projects will be launched soon as cooperation further deepens.
