Two Palestinian children were killed on Monday in an explosion in central Gaza, medics and witnesses said.
Medics at al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir el Ballah said Nida Abu Soud, 12, and Alla Abu Soud, 13, were killed by the explosion of a bomb they found in an open area near the al-Bureij refugee camp.
Witnesses said they heard a huge explosion near the overcrowded refugee camp before they found the bodies of two children in an open area near the camp.
The witnesses said the two children found a homemade bomb in the area, and as they were trying to pull it out, it exploded and killed both of them.
