Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets amounted to 125.7 billion U.S. dollars at the end of February, 2.1 billion U.S. dollars less than January, Hong Kong 's Monetary Authority announced Tuesday.
The figure, including unsettled forward contracts, represents over six times the currency in circulation, or about 40 percent of Hong Kong dollar M3.
Hong Kong is the world's seventh largest holder of foreign currency reserves after Japan, the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, South Korea, Russia and India.
