China receives more than 800,000 trademark applications in 2005

China received a total of 838,000 trademark applications in 2005, a 10-percent growth over the previous year, said Wednesday's Shanghai Securities News.

According to a latest survey by the General Administration for Industry and Commerce of China, China has ranked the first in the world for four consecutive years in terms of the number of trademark applications.

The ministry said by the end of 2005, China's total trademark applications had amounted to 4.22 million cases, with 2.5 million applications successfully registered.
