The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has agreed to leave its oil output ceiling at a near-maximum 28 million barrels per day, reports here quoted an OPEC delegate as saying on Wednesday.
But OPEC ministers were still meeting.
Shortly before the meeting, the ministers attending the talks had made clear that they would do their utmost to steer prices away from a 70 U.S. dollars danger zone and fill supply gaps in Nigeria and Iraq.
Earlier reports said OPEC was set to keep its oil output quota at a near 25-year high in a bid to keep the market well supplied, while crude prices remained high because of tensions surrounding key energy producers Iran and Nigeria.
