The 12th International Textile Industry Exhibition will be unveiled in Shanghai this July, according to sources with the Shanghai textile holding group, the organizer of the exhibition.
Du Shuangxin, chairman of the Shanghai textile holding group, said the future development of China's textile machinery market has drawn foreign enterprises and provided more cooperation opportunities .
The exhibition attracted 1,400 enterprises in 2005, a significant increase from the 300 in the first exhibition held in 1984.
Most exhibition participants are from Germany, Italy, Spain, the Republic of Korea, Britain, France and the United States.
This year's exhibition will start to cover three other exhibitions: the Shanghai international garment industry exhibition, the Shanghai international knitwear exhibition, and the China international textile equipment exhibition.
China's textile machinery exports exceeded 200 million US dollars in 2000. In the first 11 months of 2005, the total trade of the country's textile machinery was close to four billion US dollars.
Insiders said that the market capacity of China's textile machinery is about eight billion US dollars, accounting for 30 percent of the world's total.
