In a bid to disseminate information about cutting-edge technologies and promote business of computer related services, Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) will organize its Info-Tech Expo 2006 on March 23-28, a CAN official said Saturday.
The six-day event, expected to be participated by around 300, 000 people, will be held at Birendra International Convention Center of Kathmandu, President of CAN Biplav Man Singh said at a press meet.
Around 110 companies, including four Indian ones, will showcase latest software, hardware and other technologies in 180 different stalls during the event, Singh said.
Apart from showcasing various technologies and IT related accessories, an international IT conference will also be held during the event, according to Singh.
The international IT conference, which is being organized with the theme of "Leveraging IT to Create an Engine of Growth for Nepal," will be held from March 24 to 26, he added.
Speaking on the same occasion, C.N. Upadhyaya, first vice president of CAN, said that some of the attractions of the event would be demonstration of wood-carving software and software developed by four other domestic companies, among others.
"Various Internet service providers, IT colleges and other professional training houses will also introduce their services," he added.
CAN Info-Tech, first organized in 1994, has evolved into a platform wherein, apart from trading of IT related goods, discussions on shaping the future of IT sector also take place.
