China has stopped imports of a 39g-Cadbury Caramilk made by Cadbury Adams Canada from March 9, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine reports.
The Canada-made Cadbury Caramilk was reported to contain plastic fragments after a cracked plastic food mold was rolled into the production line.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency warned consumers not to eat the Caramilk as a consumer has been hurt by a plastic fragment found in the Cadbury Caramilk.
Cadbury Adams Canada has recalled a total of one million such Caramilks.
China's quality inspection agencies have been warned to tighten inspection against all such products entering China from abroad, including those by air mail or personal packages.
The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine also warned consumers in China not to eat the Cadbury Caramilk.
According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, three kinds of 39g-packing Cadbury Caramilk are suspected to contain the plastic fragment, namely Cadbury Caramilk, Caramilk Maple and Caramilk Cafe.
